Early life

Prince Fahad was born on 1923 as the first son of King Saud.[1][2] His mother was Munirah bint Saad bin Saud Al Saud, daughter of Saad bin Saud Al Saud and granddaughter of Saud bin Faisal bin Turki, who was the brother of Abdul Rahman bin Faisal (King Ibn Saud's father and King Saud's grandfather). Thus, Prince Fahad's parents were second cousins.[1]

Career

During the reign of his father, King Saud, Prince Fahad was appointed the minister of defense and inspector general.[3] He was in office from 1956 to 1960.[2] He was the Saudi ambassador to Greece from 1964 until 1968.

Personal life

Fahad bin Saud had two wives. One of his spouses was Al Anoud bint Faisal Al Saud, a daughter of late King Faisal. They separated after years of marriage. His second wife was of Syrian origin. He had one daughter: Amal bint Fahad bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.[1]

Death and funeral

On 30 October 2006, Prince Fahad died at his house and was buried at Al Adl cemetery in Mecca.

gollark: Why not just, well, route stuff over the server? You can then enjoy the security benefits of HTTPS/WSS and also no distance issues.
gollark: So the server is just to encrypt stuff?
gollark: I have an open websocket rebroadcast thing you can use, though it's not very secure or sophisticated.
