FD Iskandar

Datuk Seri Fateh Iskandar bin Mohamed Mansor (born February 18, 1968), better known as FD Iskandar, is one of Malaysia's iconic leading influential figures. Datuk Seri FD Iskandar is the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Glomac Bhd. As of September 2015, he was appointed Chairman of Media Prima Berhad and is also one of Telekom Malaysia's key Directors.

Early life

Datuk Seri FD Iskandar was born on February 18, 1968. He attended the Malay College Kuala Kangsar as a young teenager. He later then went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Commerce and LLB from Australia in 1989. Datuk Seri then furthered his studies and received an MBA from University of Queensland, Australia in 1991. He was a legal practitioner in Australia before coming home to Malaysia. He served as a Barrister at Law from Freehill, Holingdale & Page (Australia) from 1989 to 1991.

Career

Datuk Seri FD Iskandar first served as the Corporate Manager for Kumpulan Perangsang Selangor Berhad (KPS) upon coming home from Australia. He left KPS to join Glomac Berhad in 1992 as their General Manager for Business Development. Datuk Seri FD Iskandar is now the Group Executive Chairman, the Group Managing Director and the Chief Executive Officer of Glomac Berhad, a main property developing company listed on Bursa Malaysia since June 2000. His experience, influence and expertise has made him a very well-known and respected figure amongst his peers locally, and as well as in the international arena.

Today, Datuk Seri FD Iskandar runs multiple public and private listed companies across several major industries. Apart from running Glomac Berhad on a daily basis, Datuk Seri FD Iskandar also operates the Board of Axis-Reits Managers Berhad, which is the first REITs company to be listed on Bursa Malaysia. He is also the Director of Telekom Malaysia Berhad, Malaysia’s broadband champion and leading communications group. In May 2017, he was appointed as the Chairman of VADS Berhad, a joint venture IT company between Telekom Malaysia and IBM, who service the IT and telecommunications industry. He was recently appointed to be a part of Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur's (DBKL) City Advisory Board Member by His Majesty the King (Yang di-Pertuan Agong). Datuk Seri FD Iskandar serves as the Chairman of the Special Taskforce to Facilitate Business Group (PEMUDAH) on legal terms. As a vital member to firms such as Media Prima Berhad and Telekom Malaysia, Datuk Seri FD Iskandar demonstrates his leadership role in order for these firms to develop a greater success.

In 2006, he was appointed as the Chairman of Axis-Reit Limited and later went on to become the first ever Malay President of the Real Estate & Housing Developers' Association Malaysia (REHDA) of Malaysian Property Incorporated (MPI). REHDA is a partnership between the Government and the Private Sector. The aim of the organisation is to encourage investment in property for foreigners based Malaysia. In addition to that, he was appointed as Vice Chairman of the Malaysia Australia Business Council (MABC).

Datuk Seri FD Iskandar is frequently invited as a guest speaker in forums, seminars and conventions to offer his insights and views to share his wealth of experiences. He has given talks both locally and internationally about Malaysia over the years. He has been awarded numerous awards such as the "Malaysian Business Award in Property" by the Chamber of Commerce, the “Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award” by Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards and most recently, he received the “Global Leadership Awards – Masterclass Developer Of The Year” by The Leaders International.

Family

Datuk Seri FD Iskandar is the only son of Tan Sri FD Mansor and Puan Sri Zainun. Two Malaysian figures adored in the public eye. His wife, Datin Seri Hafizah Zakaria is a passionate supporter of charity projects which usually involves children in need and disaster reliefs. She is known for her bubbly and motherly personality, especially when she is surrounded by children. Datin Seri Hafizah collaborates regularly with UNICEF and other local charities to help children in need.

When she is not involved in charitable causes, Datin Seri Hafizah devotes her time and energy in nurturing her children’s growth and development. She is always seen in stylish outfits when spotted at events with her husband. Tatler Magazine claims that she is the backbone to her husband's busy lifestyle.

Together, the couple have 6 children. Their eldest son, FD Idzham is always seen in the public eye as following his father's footsteps. FD Idzham who is currently finishing his studies abroad, is a young entrepreneur and a rugby union player for Saracens F.C. based in London, England. The young gentleman enjoys playing musical instruments and working with children in need during his spare time.
