Description

  • Valves with bilateral symmetry (symmetric about a line)
  • Valves often asymmetrical to the apical axis
  • Raphe system is short and provides weak motility
  • Raphe located on valve mantle and face
  • Cells may possess 2 or more rimoportulae (labiate processes)
