EtonHouse International Education Group

EtonHouse International Education Group is headquartered in Singapore with 120 schools in over 12 countries. Together these schools provide education to over 12,000 children globally.

There are 9 IB schools in the EtonHouse family.

History

The first EtonHouse school was opened in Singapore in 1995 by Ng Gim Choo, who had been inspired by her observations as a parent of play-based preschools in London.[1][2][3] Initially, the school had difficulty acquiring local staff due to a lack of educators with early-childhood education training and so brought in teachers from overseas.[1] By 2010, the Group's average annual revenue was $40 million with 26 schools across Asia.[2]

Developments

EtonHouse Zhong Hua at Bukit Timah is the first childcare centre in Singapore to offer an inquiry curriculum delivered exclusively in Mandarin. Set within the premises of Hwa Chong International School, the school welcomes children from 18 months to 6 years of age.

The Group also announced its investment of $110mil in a China campus project in Deyang of Sichuan, China in 2017.[4] The new campus will have a capacity of 5000 students and includes 3 campuses - a standalone kindergarten, a primary and secondary school, a kindergarten and high school campus as well as a teacher training centre.

In September 2017, EtonHouse has expanded to the Middle East through a franchise agreement with MBA Fakhro Group, and opened Etonhouse Bahrain[5] division, the first Etonhouse preschool in Bahrain.[6]

In December 2017, Saarth Khanna Sohum, a student of EtonHouse International School Sentosa, was named the Youngest Bilingual Author in the World-Guinness World Records[7]. Saarth conceptualised the picture book, the play script and the 2 songs that were published after 108 days of hard work in 3 editions - English, English and Hindi as well as English and Mandarin on 2 November 2017.

In May 2018, EtonHouse announced that 16 full scholarships will be disbursed each year. These scholarships are open to Singaporeans and expatriates keen to attend secondary and high school at EtonHouse.

In October 2019, Founder and Managing Director, Mrs. Ng Gim Choo won the prestigious EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Award in the Education category.
