Early life and career

Cummings was born in Lafayette, Louisiana. Her father was in the military, and Erin lived in South Korea, Nebraska and various areas of Louisiana, later growing up in Huntsville, Texas. She graduated from Huntsville High School, and attended Kilgore College in Kilgore, Texas, from 1995-97 after auditioning and being selected for the Kilgore College Rangerettes dance team. After Kilgore, Cummings attended the University of North Texas, graduating with a degree in Journalism. She also studied Shakespeare at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.[1][2] She has had minor roles in TV shows such as Charmed, Passions and Star Trek: Enterprise.[3] She appeared alongside America Olivo and Julia Voth in the action film Bitch Slap.[4][5]

Cummings starred as Spartacus' wife, Sura, in the Starz series Spartacus: Blood and Sand.[6] Muscle & Fitness magazine featured Cummings in an article and pictorial for their February 2010 edition.[7] In 2013, Erin portrayed Donna Adams in the Primary Stages production of Harbor.

Erin is the founder of "Mittens for Detroit", a community initiative whose sole purpose is to collect and distribute new gloves and mittens to children and adults in the city of Detroit.[1]

gollark: Maybe make it so you get taxed some % of a patent's value each year. You might say "hmm but how do we calculate value". Simple! Make it so that you *specify* the value, and anyone who is willing to pay that much can buy it off you/pay for it to enter the public domain for that much.
gollark: > wouldnt that deter using patents?that is the point.
gollark: Or you could just have a tax of some kind on patents.
gollark: No, I mean use them to... produce useful things?
gollark: There needs to be a better incentive to actually *use* patents, I think.
