History

Ensygnia operations began in 2012. In 2013 the company secured $3.3 million in seed funding[2] and successfully applied for and received two UK patents.[3] Ensygnia was also one of 17 start-ups accepted into the London-based Telefonica funded Wayra Academy for the year 2013.[4] At the end of 2013, Ensygnia acquired Mustard Digital and its retail site Snaptaps.[5]

In 2014, Ensygnia won 'Best Software Solution' at the Mobile Industry Awards,[6] reached the final on the Innotribe start-up challenge[7] and became a start-up in residence at BBC labs.[8]

In June 2015, Ensygnia was listed as one of the best funded (B2B) Commerce Enablers in Europe.[9]

A list of the top 10 major players in UK Mobile Payments for 2017 placed Ensygnia as 6th after Apple, Paym, Google, PayPal and Zapp.[10]

gollark: Come to think of it, it might just be comparing *pairs* via some hashing thing and not be a total ordering, but I doubt it.
gollark: I used highly advanced coding and algorithms™ to try a bunch of algorithms to see if any of them put the list in the right order.
gollark: Maybe there could be multiple hashing algorithms in use, oh bεes.
gollark: Okay, not even weird variants of SHA2 with different lengths appear to work.
