Ellen Miller (banker)

Ellen Miller is currently a consultant and executive coach working with a range of organisations and business schools on executive and non-executive leadership and talent development, organisational culture and corporate governance. She began her professional career in the finance sector, in New York and Hong Kong, and has been London-based since 1988. Miller spent 25 years in investment banking, most recently as a managing director at Lehman Brothers and was latterly responsible for graduate recruitment, academic relations and training and development. She helped establish the Lehman Brothers Centre for Women in Business with Laura D'Andrea Tyson at the London Business School and was a member of its Advisory Committee. In 2008, she was appointed as an executive fellow in organisational behaviour at the London Business School. Her board positions have included the advisory committee for management education at Insead, the international advisory board of SDA Bocconi, the development board of the Bodleian Library of Oxford University and the Higher Education Funding Council of England’s Committee on Employability and Skills. She was appointed to the Council of the Institute of Directors in 2017 and to its Audit and Risk Committee in 2019.
