Taxonomy
Elaphoglossum was first described in 1841 by John Smith, who attributed the name to Heinrich Schott.[1]
Species
The genus has a large number of species. The Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group classification of 2016 (PPG I) suggested there were about 600;[3] Plants of the World Online and the Checklist of Ferns and Lycophytes of the World both listed at least 730 as of January 2019.[1][2] Species include:[2]
- Elaphoglossum conforme (Sw.) J.Sm. (type species[3])
- Elaphoglossum pattersoniae Mickel
- Elaphoglossum serpens Maxon & C.V.Morton
- Elaphoglossum tovii E.Brown
gollark: You could use metric prefixes like kilokelvin if you wanted.
gollark: It's as consistent as imperial, if not more so.
gollark: I don't see why you would use imperial when you could use the superior furlong-firkin-fortnight system.
gollark: Everyone doing that subject that is.
gollark: The closest thing to a science fair my school did is one night last year or something where everyone presented DT (design and technology) projects.
