Edward Whitehead

Walter Edward Whitehead, CBE, Commander, RN (ret.), was an advertising representative of Schweppes Tonic Water who rose to become President of the company's USA operations and overseas General Manager .[1] The first campaign he was featured in was created by Ogilvy & Mather Agency in 1955 and ran through the 1960s.

Born in Aldershot, England, 20 May 1908, Whitehead was a veteran of the South Pacific campaign. He published his autobiography, How to Live the Good Life: The Commander Tells You How[2] in 1977. Whitehead died 16 April 1978, in Petersfield.[3]
