Plot
Rajvir (Bobby Deol) and Ranvir (Sunny Deol) are devoted brothers. They along with their parents leave their village in Punjab to move to Mumbai. When their mother passes away, Ranvir takes on the responsibility of looking after his younger brother. After some hardship Ranvir manages to turn everything around and he becomes really wealthy. Rajvir on the other hand lives recklessly and without a care in the world.
Shalini joins the same college as Rajvir and falls for his charm. He tries to woo her only for fun but she falls in love with him. Later one night, Shalini confesses her love for Rajvir telling him she intends to marry him assuming the same desire on Rajvir's part.
She keeps on talking about marriage but one day Rajvir goes berserk and tells her that he does not love her. He abuses and disrespects her. He even shows up at Shilini's house (enraged because his friends told him they think he has fallen in love with Shalini) disrespecting her parents as well in the process.
Prior to all this, Ranvir catches a glimpse of Shalini at a wedding and falls for her. He sends a marriage proposal but she denies claiming she loves someone else. Ranvir heartbroken accepts.
After the aforesaid event, Shalini accepts the marriage proposal from Ranvir and they both eventually fall in love. Rajvir later realises his love for Shalini and confesses it in front on Ranvir, (who is unaware that Rajvir's love interest is Shalini) who encourages him to propose Shalini.
When he shows up and confesses his love, Shalini very politely disapproves. He feels broke and vows to kill that person (unaware its Ranvir as he never met her sister in law). He later on sees Ranvir along with Shalini in a restaurant. Ranvir slaps Rajvir. He rans and climbs a bridge top drunken pretending to take the fall. Ranvir rushes behind him and ends up getting hit by car and goes in comma.
Later, Rajvir apologises in front of Ranvir as Ranvir wokes up from his comma forgiving Rajvir.
The film ends up with Rajvir going back to his village and end up meeting Rani (Preity Zinta) and falling for her.
