Desiree Burch
Desiree Lea Burch[1] (born January 26, 1979)[2] is an American comedian and television host. Originally from Los Angeles, Burch has also lived in New York[3], Streatham and Peckham, having moved to London to live with her English boyfriend (now ex-boyfriend) .[4] She won the Funny Women awards in 2015.[5] Prior to working as a comedian she worked as a dominatrix.[3]
She has also appeared on Live at the Apollo,[6] Have I Got News for You,[7] QI,[8] The Mash Report,[9] The Russell Howard Hour,[10] The Fake News Show,[11] Chris Ramsey's Stand Up Central,[12] Frankie Boyle's New World Order,[13] Mock the Week,[14], American Autopsy[15] and Richard Osman's House of Games.[16] She also plays Pamela Winchell, the former Mayor of Night Vale and current Head of Emergency Press Conferences, in Welcome to Night Vale.[17]
Burch hosts Flinch, a physical game show on Netflix,[18] alongside Seann Walsh, and Lloyd Griffith,[19] which debuted in May 2019.[3] Desiree's Coming Early was a 31-date UK tour in October and November 2019 with support from comedian Ingrid Dahle.[20]
In 2020, she also became the narrator for Netflix's reality television dating show Too Hot to Handle.[21]
In May 2020 Desiree appeared as a contestant in BBC’s I'll Get This playing games during dinner to avoid paying the bill.
