Deptford Township Schools

The Deptford Township Schools is a comprehensive community public school district, comprising eight school facilities, that serves students in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade in Deptford Township, in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States.[3]

As of the 2017-18 school year, the district and its eight schools had an enrollment of 4,419 students and 329.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.4:1.[1]

The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "CD", the sixth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[4]

The district's board of education has nine members who set policy and oversee the operation of the district by its administration. As a Type II school district, the members are directly elected by voters to three-year terms of office on a staggered basis, so that three members are up for election each year held as part of the November general election since 2012.[19][20]
