This original lineup released six successful albums and sold an estimated five million units in total before disbanding. They had major hits with "Shhh!", "Boom Boom", "Desde Que No Estás Aquí" and "No Tengo Dinero" which were sung by DJ Kane.
Departure and DJ Kane (2003–05)
DJ Kane was one of the original members along with Frankie J to leave Los Kumbia Kings for a solo career, and signed a contract with EMI Latin to record and form his own group. With help from veteran musicians Roland Gutierrez and Mariano Harerra, he put together a super group with musicians from famous backgrounds and a high power show which would leave audiences shocked. In 2004, he released his self-titled first album DJ Kane which went to number 8 on the Billboard charts with hits including "La Negra Tomasa" and "Mía", also earning two Latin Grammy nominations for Best Urban Album and Producer of the Year.
Capítulo II: Brinca (2005–07)
The following year, DJ Kane released his second album titled Capítulo II: Brinca and reached number 28 on Billboard, also earning a Latin Grammy nomination for the Best Tropical Regional Mexican Album, though this award went to his former group Los Kumbia Kings which had released its live album titled Kumbia Kings Live.He also paired with Latino group MC Magic to sing the hit song Sexy Lady which was a great success.
Capítulo III: Ahogando Penas (2007–08)
In 2007 Jason released his third album as a solo artist titled Capítulo III: Ahogando Penas.
Kumbia All Starz (2008–10)
In February 2008, he rejoined A.B. Quintanilla with his new group Los Kumbia All Starz, when three vocalists, Pee Wee, Roque Morales and Memo Morales, from A.B. Quintanilla's group left. He went on to record in A.B. Quintanilla y Los Kumbia All Starz's third album La Vida de un Genio in 2010 which reatured such hits as "Hipnótika" featuring Voltio and Marciano Cantero from Los Enanitos Verdes as well as "Mentirosa" featuring T López and Yeyo Cancio.
Solo again and SpanGlish (2010–present)
DJ Kane is currently working on a project alongside another former Kumbia All Starz member Ricky Rick. The two discussed the idea while on a trip to Bolivia and have since teamed up with mega producers Yeyo Cancio, Reynold Martinez and Grammy Award winning producer Robert Bobbo Gomez to produce the duo's latest album which is said to release in early 2011.
