Döwletmämmet Azady

Döwletmämmet Azady (Turkmen: Döwletmämmet Azady, c.16951700 c.1760) was a Turkmen poet[2][3] and Sufi scholar. He is the father of Magtymguly Pyragy, who is considered the founder of the Turkmen literature.

The resting place of Azady and his son Magtymguly is located in Aktokai Cemetery, Golestan, Iran and is a place of pilgrimage. Every year, this cemetery becomes a place of pilgrimage for thousands of people.[4]
