History

Currambine station opened on 8 August 1993 as the terminus of the Joondalup line.[1][2] It was designed as both a passenger station and a cleaning depot. The cleaning depot also enabled the storage of up to six two carriage trains (three per track), which negated the transfer of rollingstock from the Claisebrook depot to enable a quicker commencement of each day's services.

The original station was found to be in the way of the gazetted Mitchell Freeway reserve, so the station was demolished and rebuilt 60 metres east of the original site as part of enabling works for the future extension of the line to Clarkson, and connection with a new Nowergup depot designed for the storage and maintenance of newer B-series rolling stock. It opened on 4 October 2004.[2][3]

gollark: Like I said, the transistor and diode cults are allied now.
gollark: Except the Cult of Transistor. Though we're considering allying with the diode people.
gollark: No.
gollark: Maybe I should petition to be a diode atheist and have a transistor cult.
gollark: ... so you can make a transistor out of several diodes, then, or...?
