Kunigunde

Kunigunde, Kunigunda, or Cunigunde is a European female name of German origin derived from "kuni" (clan, family) and "gund" (war).[1] In Polish this is sometimes Kunegunda or Kinga. People with such names include:

Fictional or legendary

  • Princess Kunegunda, from a legend of the Chojnik Castle
  • Cunégonde, a fictional character in Voltaire's novel Candide
  • Minerva Cunnegunda Grey, wife of Lord Harold "Hal" Grey, Duke of Pardloe in the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon, this name being mentioned in the 8th central novel, Written in my Own Heart's Blood.
