After Nemati was replaced by Oliver Burdett and touring keyboardist and vocalist Hannah Greenwood was upgraded to a full-time member,[7] Creeper released The Stranger in February 2016, which reached the top ten of the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart.[8] The EP was supported by one single, "Black Mass".[9] After announcing their debut full-length album, the group released "Suzanne" in October 2016,[10] followed by "Hiding with Boys" in December,[11] and finally "Black Rain" in February 2017.[12] Upon its release in March, Eternity, in Your Arms debuted at number 18 on the UK Albums Chart,[13] as well as topping the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart.[14] "Misery" was issued as the album's final single in June.[15] In December 2017, the band released the three-track Christmas-themed EP Christmas.[16]

After a year-long hiatus, Creeper issued the first single of their second era, "Born Cold", on 3 November 2019.[17] In January 2020, it was announced that the band's second album would be titled Sex, Death & the Infinite Void and released on 22 May 2020.[18] This was later changed to July 31, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[19] The album debuted at number 5 on the UK Albums Chart and topped the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart.[13][14]
