History

Just north of town, St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church was founded on a farm in 1765.[5]

If you take Tapper's Corner Road out of town to where it ends at Lewistown Road, you will be near the head of a creek which flows (38.8845°N 75.958°W / 38.8845; -75.958) into the Tuckahoe; this creek was called Kentucky, by it once stood the cabin of Betsey Bailey, the grandmother of Frederick Douglass; he believed he was born there.[6]

gollark: I had one, but then my future self took it.
gollark: Yes, you could probably accelerate stuff *decently* if you knew the limitations of manufacturing and whatever and introduced things in a sensible order.
gollark: The tricky thing with that is that basically all stuff relies on previously developed tech, and complex supply chains for making that.
gollark: Approximately sensible ish, yes.
gollark: Movies and stuff go for a stupid inconsistent nonsensical one most of the time, though.
