Cooch Behar Government Engineering College
Cooch Behar Government Engineering College is a government engineering college in Cooch Behar district, West Bengal, India. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education[1] and affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology.[2] The college is situated in a prime location in the Cooch Behar District. The college is approved by AICTE and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (Formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology) – MAKAUT/WBUT and Government of India and the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal. The institute is located at its own campus of 21 acres.

History
Established in 2016, Cooch Behar Government Engineering College (CGEC) is an initiative of Govt. of West Bengal and Hon’ble Chief Minister, West Bengal.
The college is approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology(MAKAUT), West Bengal (Formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology) The college is situated just on the bank of beautiful Torsha river at its own sprawling campus of 21 acres.
Departments
The college was established in 2016 and offers admission to five branches:
- Civil Engineering
- Computer Science and Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
Popularly known as CGEC.
Infrastructure and facilities
The institute is equipped with:
• A Central Computer Center with high-speed processor-based PCs.
• Internet facility.
• The college is endowed with a fully computerized main library with an area of 408 Sq.mt, which has a collection of 620 titles, 9275 volumes of Books, with software for Library Management and Documentation.
• National and international online e-journals.
• Canteen.
• Student's Common Room.
• Hostel Accommodation (Both Boys & Girls).
Departmental facilities
Department of Computer Science and Engineering
All the labs of the department are equipped with at least 36 systems each with the ratio of 1:1 for each student. One computer centre is also managed by the department providing Internet facility for hosteller students beyond college time and equipped with 100 computer systems of the latest configuration. The Internet is totally working on wired/Wi-Fi enabled system with dedicated bandwidth of 34Mbit/s. [2018]

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has already developed many laboratories like Solid Mechanics laboratory, Strength of Materials Laboratory, Dynamics and Control Laboratory, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Laboratory, Material Testing Laboratory, Heat Transfer Laboratory, I. C. Engine & Thermal Power Engineering Laboratory, Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulic Machines Laboratory.
Department of Electrical Engineering
Basic Electrical Lab, Electric Circuit theory Lab, Field theory Lab, Electric machine-II Lab, Power system-I Lab, Control system-I Lab. [2018]
Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering
The ECE department has already developed many laboratories like Basic Electronics Lab, Analog Electronics Lab, Antenna and Transmission Lab, Signals and Systems Lab.
Department of Basic Science and Humanities
The department of Basic Science and Humanities caters the need for foundation classes for all the core engineering courses. The department is equipped with Laboratories of Chemistry and Physics and also a Language Lab. [2018]
