Among the earlier works of Altatis as a filmmaker are the short films "Kulis" and "Strawberry Girl." The films were shown in the installments of Cinema Rehiyon in 2015 and in 2016, respectively. His short films "Boys' Toys" and "Gahi Ka'g Ulo" (You're Hard Headed) were screened at the Sweet As Film Festival 2016 in Quebec, Canada, in the non-competition category.[2]

Altatis was also mentored as a musician by Gary Granada, as a literary writer by Vim Nadera, the late Francis C. Macansantos, Priscilla Supnet Macansantos and Hermie Beltran, and as an actor by Cris Garrido, Joey Paras, Arnold Cruz Reyes, the late Soxy Topacio and Leo Martinez.

In 2014, Altatis starred with Topacio, Biboy Ramirez, Leo Rialp, Candy Pangilinan and the late Wenn V. Deramas in Paras's "Wala Na Bang Ibang Title?" In 2015, Altatis wrote and directed the stageplay "Mary Leonore Therese R. Nakamura." The stageplay, which also includes Altatis as a main actor, won as the champion of the theater festival organized by Theater, Music and Arts for Peace.[3] On the small screen, he appeared in 2015 on "You're My Home" and in 2017 on "La Luna Sangre" and "A Love To Last" which are all ABS-CBN shows.

In 2016, Altatis wrote an episode of "Wish Ko Lang" titled "Hinete" directed by internationally acclaimed Filipino filmmaker Zig Dulay. In 2017, the former wrote the screenplay of TV film "Everlasting," which was directed by Mendoza.

"Everlasting" starred Aubrey Miles and Mercedes Cabral, who was voted Most Beautiful Actress who walked the red carpet at the 61st Cannes Film Festival in France, beating Salma Hayek, Penelope Cruz, Cate Blanchett and Natalie Portman.[4] The TV film was filmed in Baguio City, where Altatis finished his high school, and in La Trinidad, Benguet, where he finished college.
