Cocoon Capital
Cocoon Capital is a Singapore-based venture capital fund focusing on online, early-stage technology companies.[1] It was founded by Michael Robert Blakey and William Klippgen in 2016.[2]

History
In 2016, Cocoon Capital was founded[2] by Michael Robert Blakey and William Klippgen.[3]
Cocoon Capital launched its first US$7 million fund in December 2016.[2] In November 2018, it launched a new US$20 million fund targeting enterprise-tech startups in Southeast Asia.[4] In October 2017, the company appointed Martin Roll, a management consultant, as Senior Advisor.[5]
Investments
The firm invests in early-stage, private technology companies and specialises in seed stage and startup stage investments.[6] The company mainly invest in companies based in Southeast Asia with amounts ranging from US$400,000 to US$750,000.[7]
Since December 2017, the fund has been a partner with the Singapore government-linked innovation agency SGInnovate which matches up to 70% of Cocoon Capital’s investments.[8]
Cocoon Capital has invested in over 12 companies since 2016 including ticketing platform Hapz.com,[9] Filipino electronics retailer Poundit.com,[10] energy management company SensorFlow,[11][12] Vietnamese social media management platform Hiip.asia and Singapore-based web acceleration platform Dexecure.com.[13] Its portfolio is mainly within the SaaS, fintech and deep-tech verticals.[14]
Some of its other notable investments include Kargo[15] and Lendela.[16]
In February 2019, the company along with SGInnovate and Blackbird Ventures invested US$1 million in See-Mode Technologies, a Singapore-based medtech startup.[17]

Cocoon Capital's investors include Steve Diggle (Vulpes Innovative Technologies Investment Company), Martin Hauge (partner in Creandum), Playfair Capital, Jani Rautiainen (co-founder of PropertyGuru), Martin Roll (Founder & CEO of Martin Roll Company), Oliver Tonby (chairman of McKinsey's offices in Asia, excluding Greater China) and Michelle Yong (director of Aurum Investments).[4][18]
