The district's board of education has nine members who set policy and oversee the fiscal and educational operation of the district through its administration; an additional representative is appointed to represent Fairview.[14] As a Type II school district, the board's trustees are elected directly by voters to serve three-year terms of office on a staggered basis, with three seats up for election each year held in April; the district is one of 12 districts, out of more than 600 statewide, that still hold school elections in April.[16][17] As one of the districts with school elections in April, voters decide on passage of the annual school budget.[18]

gollark: <@&358173303816323072> Can someone catch my experiment in ~15 minutes?
gollark: Anyone available in 5ish hours? I have two experiments running.
gollark: Smallish ND experiments don't really say much about the effectiveness of various things, because NDs are highly random, and there don't seem to be any attempts to do larger-scale ND experiments which control for the many variables involved.
gollark: I've done neglection a bit last year, which is where I got... some stuff or other, I forget... from.
gollark: ... now I need to figure out what to do with them.

But voters in 13 New Jersey towns went to the polls Tuesday to cast votes for their local boards of education, and in most cases, on whether or not to pass the district budgets."
