History

The Chronicle-Tribune was created in 1968 when The Marion Chronicle (established in 1865 as an evening newspaper) was combined with The Marion Leader-Tribune (established in 1912 as a morning newspaper); the papers had published a combined Sunday edition under the Chronicle-Tribune name. It was published as an all-day newspaper with morning and evening editions until the evening edition was eliminated in 1973. The paper was purchased by Gannett Co. in 1971.

In May 2007, Gannett donated the Chronicle-Tribune to the Gannett Foundation. On July 2, 2007, the paper was sold to Paxton Media Group.[1] With the purchase, the Chronicle-Tribune became the 10th Paxton property in Indiana and the largest.[2]

gollark: I'm not sure about "deserve", and I'm not sure if it is actually a jail-time-causing thing, but there was that thing where he tweeted about Tesla's share price.
gollark: Is there other stuff other than the share price tweet thing?
gollark: A society with access to the computers and software necessary to decode the bee movie would also likely have the movie itself anyway. So you should put an archive of various software and technical documentation on too.
gollark: Ah, but flash memory loses data if it's left unpowered pretty fast. ~~He~~ You overthought the wrong bit of it. Blu ray discs would be better.
gollark: Though websites being bloated messes packed with inefficient programming, JS all the time for no reason, and ads doesn't help. My site is optimized for load speed, and I got core stuff down to about 20kB a page and do aggressive service worker caching, but most sites do *not* do this.
