Merrie joined Wigan Athletic in 2013, after progressing through the Everton youth ranks.[2] On 8 August 2017, Merrie made his Wigan debut during their EFL Cup tie against Blackpool, which resulted in a 2–1 victory for the Latics.[3] On 31 August 2017, Merrie joined National League North side Southport on a season-long loan deal.[4] However, after featuring just five times, scoring once, Wigan recalled him in November 2017.
In March 2018, he joined Altrincham on loan until the end of the season.[5] He helped the club win promotion from the Northern Premier League, scoring one goal in seven games.[6][7]

gollark: Speaking unironically for a moment, there are in fact non-GNU Linux distros, although Arch is not one.
gollark: No, Richard, it's 'Linux', not 'GNU/Linux'. The most important contributions that the FSF made to Linux were the creation of the GPL and the GCC compiler. Those are fine and inspired products. GCC is a monumental achievement and has earned you, RMS, and the Free Software Foundation countless kudos and much appreciation.
gollark: Oh, I have this too.
