Chris Gabrieli
Chris Gabrieli is an American education activist and entrepreneur, businessman, lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and current chairman of the Massachusetts Board of Higher Education.[1]

Early life
Chris Gabrieli was born in Buffalo, New York on February 5th, 1960 and graduated with an A.B. in 1981 from Harvard College.[2]
Career
Gabrieli was a Democratic Party candidate for Congress in 1998, and was the nominee for Lieutenant Governor in the 2002 Massachusetts gubernatorial election.
In 2000, Gabrieli co-founded the educational charity, Massachusetts 2020. In 2006, Gabrieli came in second place in 2006 Massachusetts gubernatorial primary election, losing to eventual winner Deval Patrick.
Gabrieli is a senior partner at Bessemer Venture Partners where he focuses on the biotechnology industry.
In 2008, Gabrieli co-authored, Time to Learn: How a New School Schedule is Making Smarter Kids, Happier Parents, and Safer Neighborhoods. Gabrieli leads a movement to redesign the school calendar.[3] He is the co-founder of Transforming Education.[4] He is also the co-chair of the National Center on Time & Learning, an education policy organization.[5]
Personal life
Gabrieli lives in Boston with his wife and their five children.[6] Gabrielli has one brother, John Gabrieli, who is a neuroscientist and professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
