On 26 September 2016, Chen achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 628. On 23 May 2016, she peaked at No. 392 in the doubles rankings. Chen has won four doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit.
Chen made her WTA main-draw debut at the 2019 WTA Shenzhen Open in the doubles event, partnering Wang Danni.
