Chaya Someswara Swamy temple

Chaya Someswara Swamy temple, also known by the name Thrikutalayam, is a Hindu temple located in Panagal, Nalgonda district, Telangana, India.[1][2][3] It is a popular site during Sivarathri. Built between the 11th and 12th century by the Ikshvaku Dynasty. This temple, engineered by the Kunduru Cholas is also called as Thrikutalayam. This temple got its name as it is believed that there is an everlasting shadow (Chaya) on Shiva Lingam in the main temple, all day which attracts thousands of visitors to this temple.[4]

History

This temple was built Between 11th - 12th Century CE by the Ikshvaku Dynasty. The temple got the name as it is believed that there is an everlasting shadow on Shiva Lingam in the main temple, all day. The Chaya Someshwara Swamy Aalayam in the Nalgonda district is an epitome of beauty, arts and spectacle. The temple got its name from its mystifying shadow or Chaya. This amazing temple, engineered by the Kunduru Cholas is accepted as Thrikutalayam. It testifies the fantastic creative thinking and flair of its architects.

One of the temple's Garbhagudis, in the west and facing east, of the Thrikutalayam always witnesses a shadow and this mystery attracts thousands of visitors to this Temple.[4]
