Charles Porter (Australian politician)

Charles Robert Porter ((1910-05-14)14 May 1910 (2004-04-14)14 April 2004) was an Australian politician, author, playwright and broadcaster.[1] He was the Liberal member for the Electoral district of Toowong in the Legislative Assembly of the Australian state of Queensland from 1966 to 1980.[1]

Family

One of his two[3] sons was Olympic field athlete Charles "Chilla" Porter, who during the 1970s and 1980s was director of Western Australia's Liberal Party.[3] His grandson, Christian Porter, is the Liberal member for Pearce in Western Australia in the Australian House of Representatives,[3] and the Attorney-General.[4]
