"Change (In the House of Flies)", often referred to as "Change", is a song by American alternative metal band Deftones, released as the first single from their third album, White Pony, in June 2000. It remains their most commercially successful single to date, peaking at No. 3 in Billboard's Alternative Songs chart, No. 9 in the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart[1] and No. 53 in the UK Singles Chart.[2] The song was featured on the MuchMusic compilation album Big Shiny Tunes 5. Consequence of Sound described the song as alternative rock.[3]

Music video
The music video, directed by Liz Friedlander,[4] features the band playing at a party. The people attending have apathetic looks and wear animal masks. The video was shot at a Hollywood, California estate.[5]

- An acoustic version appeared on the MTV The Return of the Rock, Vol. 2 compilation, and was also included on the band's B-Sides & Rarities album.
Covers
- The EBM and industrial group Ayria recorded a cover of the song for the special 2CD version of their 2008 Hearts for Bullets album.[6]
- Alternative metal band Breaking Benjamin (along with Shaun Morgan of Seether and Barry Stock of Three Days Grace) performed a live cover of this song during the spring leg of their 2008 tour.[7]
- The post-grunge and alternative metal band Seether performed an acoustic cover of this song for SiriusXM in 2014.[8]

- The song appeared in several films and TV shows including Little Nicky, Dragon Ball Z: Cooler's Revenge, Queen of the Damned, Alias, Major Crimes, Wolf Lake, The Following and American Dad! in addition to the trailer for the seventh season of Dexter.
- The song can be purchased as downloadable content for the video game Rocksmith 2014 as a single song[9] or as a 4-pack[10] including the songs "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)", "Digital Bath", and "Hole in the Earth".
