Chang Gung Memorial Hospital metro station

Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (Chinese: 長庚醫院站; pinyin: Chánggēng Yīyuàn Zhàn) is a station on the Taoyuan Airport MRT located in Guishan District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan.[1] The station is served by both Commuter and Express services.[2]

Station overview

This elevated station has two island platforms with 4 tracks for Commuter and Express trains.[3] The station is 92.3 metres (303 ft) long and 38.6 metres (127 ft) wide. It opened for trial service on 2 February 2017, and for commercial service 2 March 2017.[4][2]

Land adjacent to the station was developed as a joint development project between government and private enterprises.[5] The project included construction of a shopping district, hotel, and private residences and encompassed an area of 12,011 square metres (2.968 acres).[6]

History

  • 2017-03-02: The station opened for commercial service with the opening of the Taipei-Huanbei section of the Airport MRT.[7]

Around the station

gollark: I think modern SSDs have "secure erase" where they just wipe the encryption key from the controller, but there's no way to test how well that actually works.
gollark: So SSDs do MANY tricks to optimize the locations of stuff in flash to minimize wear.
gollark: Flash has to be erased in large blocks to be rewritten, which it can only do 10000 times or so and which is quite slow.
gollark: The exposed blocks on SSDs don't directly map to actual flash.
