CRRC Ziyang

CRRC Ziyang Co., Ltd. (Chinese: 中车资阳机车有限公司; lit.: 'CRRC Ziyang Locomotive Co., Ltd.') is a Chinese locomotive manufacturer, one of the subsidiaries of CRRC. The plant was located in Ziyang, Sichuan Province.

History

Ziyang locomotive works was founded in 1966 by the Ministry of Railways.[2]

During the 1970s and 1980s Ziyang works manufactured the diesel hydraulic locomotive types China Railways DFH2, DHF4, DFH5, DFH6 and DFH7. In the 1990s it began to manufacture China Railways DF4B and DF4C diesel-electric locomotives, as well as starting making Shaosan electric locomotives of type China Railways SS3 and SS4G production of which continued up to the beginning of the 21st Century.

The company also exported locomotives: 8 locomotives of type CK5 to Thailand in the 1990s.

During the first decade of the 2000s the company exported; 65 1,000 mm (3 ft 3 38 in) gauge variants of diesel electric type China Railways DF7 to Vietnam (D19E class), 1,067 mm (3 ft 6 in) gauge diesel-hydraulics to Tanzania, 1,067 mm gauge diesel-electrics to Namibia, Sudan, and South Africa, and 5 1,435 mm (4 ft 8 12 in) gauge machines to Vietnam, as well as 50 mainline 1,520 mm (4 ft 11 2732 in) diesel electrics (single and double unit variants of the China Railways CF9) and 10 diesel-electric shunters to Turkmenistan, 35 shunters and 10 mainline freight locos to Kazakhstan, and single digit locomotive deliveries to Brazil and Mongolia.[3]

In 2010/11 the company received an order for 12 diesel locomotives SCT Logistics and Bradken in Australia, the first locomotive export order from China to Australia[4][5][6] The CSR Ziyang SDA1 locomotives were delivered in 2012.

CRRC Ziyang's major products are crankshafts, locomotives, gas and diesel engines, mechanical parts for engines and castings and forgings.[1][7]
