History

The station began broadcasting in 1947 as CJIB at AM 940 kHz and went through different ownerships over the years. On March 15, 2001, CJIB was converted to the FM band at 107.5 MHz becoming Vernon's first ever FM radio station.[1]

In late 2001, CJIB adopted new call letters as CKIS which lasted until 2003 (now assigned to a station in Toronto), at which time it took the callsign CKIZ, and changed formats to hot adult contemporary. CKIZ-FM reverted to AC in 2007.

On February 25, 2005, Rogers Radio was given approval by the CRTC to add a 10 watt FM transmitter at Enderby, British Columbia at 93.9 MHz to rebroadcast the programming of CKIZ-FM, which was no longer receivable there after its conversion from the AM band in 2001.[2]

In 2010, the station was sold to the Jim Pattison Group.

In On December 14, 2017, the station re-branded from Kiss FM to Beach Radio 107.5, with no change in format. The station also returned to its legacy CJIB calls.
