C. Ballin

Chris "C. Ballin" Jackson is an American record producer, songwriter and recording engineer. Influenced by every genre from classical to pop, he was drawn to music with a lot of instrumentation from a very young age. C. Ballin has produced chart topping singles for Tyga, E-40, YG, Baby Bash, DJ Mustard and Too $hort.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, he attained a degree in audio engineering at Hollywood's Musicians Institute. He landed his first job at Doggy Style Records owned by Snoop Dogg. During his time there as an engineer, he worked with Nas, Rihanna, The Game, Ray J, Brandy, Ne-Yo, Young Jeezy, Akon, Far East Movement, Kid Cudi, Kelly Rowland, The-Dream, Soulja Boy, and R. Kelly. C. Ballin was an A&R for Snoop and Interscope Records, working closely with Stampede Management's President Ted Chung. C.Ballin's knowledge of sound from his engineering background sets his production style apart from the rest.

Career

2010

In 2010, he produced four songs on Baby Bash's Bashtown album.[1] This includes the first official single, "Go Girl",[2] which features E-40, a pop rap track that was released on 30 November. Other tracks included the radio single "Fantasy Girl”, "Body Moves Slow” and "Beast in the Bedroom”. Bashtown charted on Billboard peaking at No. 38 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.[3]

2011

He collaborated with the hip hop legend Too Short in 2011, on his 16th album, No Trespassing,[4] released in February 2012. C.Ballin produced the only released single, "Money on the Floor", which features Bay Area friend and ex-Label Mate, E-40.[5] They also released a music video for the single.[6]

2012

The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil trilogy by American rapper E-40. featured the single “Wasted”, “Blame It on the DJ”, “Turn It Up”, “I'm Doin' It” ft Dorrough, and “Making My Rounds”.[7] The albums were released on 26 March 2012, and charted at No. 8 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.[8] The other albums in the trilogy include The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil 1, The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil 2, and The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil 3.[9] Released on Monday, 10 December 2012, C. Ballin joined Glasses Malone[10] on the smash single "That Good ft Ty $ign & C. Ballin" as a featured artist produced by The Phraternity.[11]

2013

In 2013, C. Ballin worked with a variety of rappers. C.Ballin produced YG's “On The Set” featuring Tory Lanez on the mixtape Just Re'd Up 2 released on 21 January 2013.[12] C.Ballin's name is credited as See Ballin on the album.[13] Tyga dropped the “Well Done 4”[14] mixtape on 9 December 2013, C.Ballin produced ”Pressed” featuring Honey Cocaine.[15] E40 reached out again for his albums The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil 5 and The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil 6 released on 10 December 2013.[16] C.Ballin produced “Countdown” featuring 2 Chainz on Vol 5.[17] and "Tonight" FT. Young Jeezy & Cousin Fik and "Put It in the Air" Ft. Mac Mall and Schoolboy Q on Vol 6. He also, produced a track from Bash's eighth studio album, "Unsung" released on 17 December 2013.[18] The single "Break It Down” features Too Short, Z-Ro and Clyde Carson.[19]

2014

C.Ballin teamed back up with YG on his debut album My Krazy Life, released on 18 March 2014, on the labels Pu$haz Ink, CTE World, Def Jam.[20] He produced the radio single “Do It to Ya” ft Teeflii, which also featured a music video.[21] In 2014, he produced three songs on Baby Bash's Ronnie Rey All Day. The songs are “Certified Freak” featuring Baeza & G. Curtis,[22]We Ready” featuring Ray J,[23] and “Blow It in Her Face” featuring Driyp Drop & Cousin' Fik.[24]

2015

Working with new producer DJ Mustard in 2015, on his first solo project the 10 Summers: The Mixtape Vol. 1 for the single “All About You” featuring Teeflii, Casey Veggies & Choice.[25]

2016

Continuing with producing for local artist, C. Ballin produced on K Camp's Lyric Ave EP, the tracks included "Lyric Ave" and "Touchdown" released on Interscope Records, 6 September 2016. He also produced Boogie's Thirst 48 Pt. II (Interscope Records, 14 October 2016) tracks "Fall Before The Climb" (featuring Jamesha Pt. 2) and "Best Friend".

2017

C. Ballin produced "Omg" on AD's album, Blue 89 C2 released on 2CC Baby / Swish MGMT / League of Starz, 10 Summers on 15 December 2017. Keeping it Los Angeles, he collated with TeeCee4800 on the Realness Over Millions 2 albums song "Flexin" on 29 September 2017.

gollark: "You pick basically whatever, and we pay for it" isn't really a monopsony; people still have demand for each university, but the version of demand as "willing and able to pay for it" just becomes "willing to have it".

Which would be nice, if it did not also cost a vast amount of money. And at the same time you dilute... whatever the degree is supposed to represent... and I don't really know what happens.
