History

The Bulacan Kuyas which is owned by Bulacan Congressman Jonathan Sy-Alvarado[1] was among the teams which featured in the inaugural competition of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League, the 2018 MPBL Anta Rajah Cup. They were also the champions of the pre-season tournament of the MPBL held prior to the tournament.[2] The team inked a partnership with the Ligo Sardines, a canned sardines brand, for the duration of the 2018 MPBL Anta Rajah Cup.[3] Entering the 2018 MPBL Datu Cup, the team changed its sponsor and signed a deal with Mighty Sports to become the team's new major sponsor.[4][5]
