History

The library was called Bukit Panjang Community Library before 2009. Its name was changed to Bukit Panjang Public Library on 2010.[3][4] It was officially opened on 4 April 1998 by Dr Teo Ho Pin, who was the then Member of Parliament for Sembawang GRC (Bukit Panjang Division).

Renovation

On 4 September 2016, the library underwent a 10-month renovation, opening on 1 July 2017.[1][5] It now has 2 wings that are facing each other on the 4th floor. The Adults' and Teens' Zone are in the old library space while the Children's Zone is in the space previously occupied by Daiso.[5] The library was officially reopened by Minister for Communications and Information Dr Yaacob Ibrahim.[2]

There are also colour-coded strips to guide people at the library.[5]

Layout

The library consists of two separate zones, an Adult and Teen zone, and a Children's zone.[2][6][7]

gollark: We have MathBot.
gollark: Yes, inasmuch as far as I know you need various more advanced calculus things to do much of that, as well as large quantities of other maths you don't appear to know.
gollark: One basic use is that you can calculate the rate of change of things, because that's basically what the derivative is. For example, velocity is rate of change of displacement, so you can go from displacement to velocity (to acceleration, which is rate of change of velocity, and so on), or integrate to go the other way.
gollark: Having vaguely looked at how they work, I don't think you can do that unless you know the frequency of sound in question.
