Brzezinki, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship

Brzezinki [bʐɛˈʑinki], until 1951 (German: Birkenek) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Zbiczno, within Brodnica County, Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, in north-central Poland.[1] It lies 4 kilometres (2 mi) south-east of Zbiczno, 7 km (4 mi) north of Brodnica, and 62 km (39 mi) north-east of Toruń.

History

In autumn of 1939, Nazi German soldiers executed around 400 Polish civilians from Brodnica and nearby villages, in the forest in Brzezinki.
