History

Borge Church is first mentioned in written sources in a document from 1335. There likely have been six churches on this site over the centuries. A medieval church was torn down and replaced in 1659, probably a cruciform log church. It was repaired extensively in 1702, but it was torn down and replaced in 1730. This new church was a timber-framed long church. About 40 years later, cross-arms were constructed, giving the building a cruciform design. Another church in Borge was built from 1798–1801. During the construction in 1798, a large storm hit and knocked down the church, so the construction had to start over. That church was rebuilt in 1877 but it burned down in 1896. A new church was consecrated in 1898. That church burned down 14 February 1983. The present church was built in 1986 to replace the previous one.[3][4]

gollark: I bet you might get *kilobytes* a second through that!
gollark: Or you could use, as I said, one of the overlay networks like cjdns or yggdrasil, or a private one like tinc or zerotier.
gollark: Well, you can encrypt the packets before posting.
gollark: Basically, you post your network packets as comments on osmarks.tk, and the other person reads them.
gollark: Yes, but it's a bit slow.
