In Billboard magazine, Bold Right Life charted at No. 114 on the US albums chart, No. 3 on the Gospel albums chart, and No. 9 on the Christian albums chart.[4] The lead single, "Praise Him Now", peaked at No. 9 on the Hot Gospel Songs and "Love Like Crazy" reached No. 57 on the Japan Hot 100.[5]

The album was nominated for a Dove Award for Urban Album of the Year at the 40th GMA Dove Awards.[6]
