Career

Youth

Dyer represented the Eastern Province Kings (formerly known as the Mighty Elephants) at Under-19 level in 2005 and at Under-21 level in 2006 and 2007.

Mighty Elephants / Eastern Province Kings

In 2008, he was included in the Mighty Elephants squad for the 2008 Vodacom Cup competition and made his first class debut by coming on as a late substitute in their narrow defeat to the Blue Bulls,[2] which was his only taste of action that season.

He made three more substitute appearances during the 2009 Vodacom Cup, including his first start for the team in their match against the Free State XV.[3]

He started their Currie Cup compulsory friendly match against Western Province in June 2009[4] and made his debut in the Currie Cup proper when he started their match against Border Bulldogs in Uitenhage,[5] making a total of nine appearances in that competition.

He remained a fringe player for the team though, making twelve appearances in 2010, seven in 2011 and three in 2012.

Despatch

He was released by the Eastern Province Kings at the end of 2012 and joined amateur club side Despatch.[6] He was a member of the Despatch side that won the inaugural SARU Community Cup competition in 2013 SARU Community Cup,[7][8] playing in all seven their matches during the competition.

Eastern Province Kings

In 2013, he was once again called into the Eastern Province Kings squad for their 2013 Currie Cup First Division Semi-Final match against the Leopards.[9]

gollark: If you plan to actually do much with this you should probably get an actual code editor of some sort.
gollark: Sure. Generally python files have .py extensions but you don't *need* that, probably.
gollark: Not *literally* `path/to/file`, just do `python3 [the path to the file to run]`.
gollark: You should probably be saving it as a plain text file.
gollark: `python3 path/to/file` from a terminal.
