The broadcast of the show was stalled in the last week of March 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic in India.[4] The show resumed the telecast of its fresh episodes from 13 July 2020 with a new season (with a leap of 7 years).

Plot

Season 1

The plot revolves around two neighbors living in Pune; the Gujarati Thakkar family and the Maharashtrian Gokhale family. Both families are competitors in businesses and produce the Indian spicy snack delicacy bhakarwadi; from which the show derives its name.

The families have different bitter relations as they have different ideologies, and things get complicated when their children fall in love.

Season 2

7 years later.. Gayatri and Abhishek have a son named Krishna, the two families are competitors but pretend to be happy in each other’s presences, Anna has impaired hearing, while on the other hand, Mahendra has a problem of forgetting things easily. Gayatri and Abhishek have been divorced because of a huge misunderstanding involving a third person. The two families are separated and try to hide the truth from Krishna but eventually, Krishna gets to know that his parents have been divorced and the two families separated. Anna the elder of the Gokhale family supports his daughter in law Gaytri while on the other hand, the Thakkar family supports Abhishek. The reason behind the divorce was that Gaytri saw Abhishek with another girl namely Anjali. He was actually carrying Anjali and helping her out with the weighing machine but Gayatri misunderstood and divorced him on the basis of cheating. Years later when Krishna tries to resolve the fight, Urmila and Jyotsna come together and find Anjali to clear the misunderstanding and end the fight. Keep watching to know what happens next!
