History

In 1961, seven local independent retailers came together to combat rival electrical retail groups and formed the Brisbane Electrical Television Traders Association (BETTA). BETTA went on to become BSL (Better Stores Ltd), a business that serviced both Betta Electrical branded and non-branded independent retailers throughout the 1990s.[1]

After BSL went into administration,[2] 48 of the Betta stores acquired their own brand and formed the BSR group.[3]

Rebrand

BSR group chief executive officer Graeme Cunningham said to represent the rebrand is the “That’s Betta” marketing campaign to highlight the group’s move into the homewares category.[4]

Store Locations

Currently Betta has locations in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Northern Territory, Western Australia, Queensland and Tasmania.

Sponsorship

Betta Home Living is a major partner of the Brisbane Heat cricket team.[5]
