Berezan, Kiev Oblast

Berezan (Ukrainian: Березань, Polish: Berezań, Russian: Березань) is a city in Kiev Oblast (region) of Ukraine. Administratively, it is incorporated as a town of oblast significance. Population: 16,543(2013 est.)[1].

History

Berezań was first mentioned in Kiev Voivodeship chronicles in 1616. It was part of the voivodeship as a royal city of Poland until 1667, when it passed to Russia.
