Biography

The band started in early 2009 with drummer Ross Watson, and vocalist/guitarist Thomas Englund, later joined by bassist Jordan Ackerman,[3] and lead guitarist Michael Hudec in order to play a benefit concert for multiple sclerosis.[2]

On April 17, Bell Tower won the MRU Battle Royale [2][4] and were offered their first show at the legendary Marquee Room by Battle Royale judge and musician Lorrie Matheson.[2][5] Thanks to new connection with Lorrie Matheson, Bell Tower made their first Sled Island appearance in 2009.[6][7] Another result of their early exposure through the Battle Royale competition was an opening slot with Hot Hot Heat in early 2010.[8]

Exclaim! magazine, Off The Dial, and the official Sled Island web site confirmed on June 1, 2009, that Bell Tower would play The Marquee Room again with the festival on June 27.[6][7][9][10]
