Tomești, Timiș

Tomești (German: Tomescht; Hungarian: Tomest) is a commune in Timiș County, Banat, Romania. It is composed of six villages: Baloșești (Balosest), Colonia Fabricii (Üveggyári telep), Luncanii de Jos (Bégalankás), Luncanii de Sus (Felsőbégalankás), Românești (Rumunyest) and Tomești.

History

Tomești was first documented in 1597, belonging to Hunedoara County. In 1620 it is mentioned as belonging to the Făget district.
