Babar Iftikhar

Major general Babar Iftikhar is a two-star general of Pakistan Army[1] and the 21st director-general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), serving in office since 1 February 2020.[2][3] Major general Babar Iftikhar was commissioned in sixth lancers in Mar 1990.

Major General Babar Iftikhar was commissioned in 6 Lancers in Mar 1990.

Education

Babar did his graduation from the Command and Staff College and later attended Royal Jordanian Command & Staff College. After earning initial degrees, he attended National Defence University.[4][5]

Career

The General Officer carries with him a rich command, staff and instructional experience. Babar served in Pakistan Army with staff and instructional experience. He served as brigade major at combatant branches of army, including armoured brigade, brigadier staff at an infantry division in North Waziristan (OAM) during the Operation Zarb-e-Azb and chief of staff at corps headquarters. He also attended the faculty of Pakistan military academy, including National Defense University, Islamabad.[6]

He took over as DG ISPR with effect from 1 Feb 2020.
