B.S. (song)

"B.S." is a song recorded by American singer Jhené Aiko for her third studio album Chilombo (2020), featuring vocals from American singer H.E.R. on the original version and fellow American singer Kehlani on the remix version.[1] Written by both Aiko and Wilson, along with rapper Big Sean, Brian Warfield and Mac Robinson, and was produced by Fisticuffs, while Kehlani wrote her verse for the remix version later. It was released along with its parent album on March 26, 2020, with the remix added later in the deluxe edition of the album on July 17, 2020. An animated music video for the song was premiered on May 16, 2020.[2]

It also attained commercial success for Aiko as a lead singer, becoming her second top-forty entry on the US Billboard Hot 100 and her highest charting song in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, following the album's release. "B.S." eventually became the fourth consecutive release from Chilombo to receive a gold certification by RIAA on May 13, 2020, having sold over 500,000 units.

Commercial performance

Though not promoted as an official single from the album, "B.S." attained commercial success for both Aiko and Wilson. By entering and peaking at number twenty-four on Billboard Hot 100 for the week of March 21, 2020, the song is to date the highest charting release for both singers, with Aiko earning her second top-forty entry on the chart, additionally. Moreover, the song was the fifth consecutive top-ten entry from Chilombo on the component Billboard R&B Songs chart, peaking at number five.[3][4] The song was eventually certified gold by RIAA on May 13, 2020, almost two months after its release.[5] It was also Aiko's highest charting song on the New Zealand Hot Singles and UK Singles Chart, peaking at number fifteen and sixty-four, respectively.
