Plot
The film starts with a few men getting on a train to kill a man named Krishna. They shoot two innocent people who are sleeping on his seat. Krishna (Shivarajkumar) beats them up only to discover that a bogie has caught fire because of the goons.
Three Years Later, Gopi (Ananth Nag), is loving, childish and caring head of a joint family consisting of his three sons, their wives and their children and few friends who visit him regularly. When his family decide to punish him by not talking for a day for consuming alcohol, he arranges to pretend that he is searching for a female caretaker. The family apologize later and are forgiven.
After a few weeks, his granddaughter Sridevi's engagement arrives. Krishna arrives with Sridevi's fiancee's family and wins everyone's hearts. Later, they get to know that he came here for the job of Gopi's caretaker. Gopi hires him. Krishna soon comes to know about Lakshmi, (Rachita Ram) Gopi's granddaughter, who became mentally insane after witnessing the fire accident of her parents. She lives in the outhouse. After convincing Gopi, Krishna befriends Lakshmi who starts to recover though not fully.
After Sridevi's wedding, the family decide to get Lakshmi married to Chetan, her cross-cousin, who just wants her wealth and lusts after her. Krishna suggests they get her married after she's recovered but is instead rebuked.
Next day, the family discover Krishna has fled with Lakshmi and feel cheated. With the help of Chukki (Nidhi Subbaiah) they reach a Music College, where with the help of (Suhasini Maniratnam), Krishna helps Lakshmi regain her stability as well as her love for music.
After returning, Krishna is badly beaten by the family members before Lakshmi sings and worships God. The family apologize to him. Lakshmi is told about her upcoming wedding. When asked about the groom, her aunt points to Chetan but she mistakes that it is Krishna and happily accepts. He leaves the house the next day. Sridevi than tells Lakshmi about her and "Chetan's" wedding. Lakshmi is shocked and frustrated and returns to the outhouse. Then one of Gopi's friends reveal why Krishna actually came to their house.
Krishna is Shivaram Krishna, son of rich businessman Ram Kumar (Prabhu). The men who had come to kill Krishna three years ago, killed Lakshmi's parents who had exchanged their seats with Krishna which made Lakshmi insane and Krishna guilty. His motive was to only treat Lakshmi not to kidnap her.
Gopi calls Ram Kumar who reveals that Krishna left to Europe the previous day. At the same time, Krishna arrives totally opposite to his normal look, making the family members remember how they had insulted him. He plays the tune on the piano which Lakshmi used to. Lakshmi runs realizing that it's Krishna. However, he makes her realize that she has a loving family and cannot leave them like this. Lakshmi hugs Gopi.
Before he leaves, Gopi sends Lakshmi with him, telling he is not making her leave this family; instead, he is joining the family, making the two reunite.
