Ayaz Gul

Ayaz Gul (Urdu: :ایاز گل ، Sindhi: :ایاز گل) is Prominent poet of Sindhi Language, from Sindh, Pakistan.[1]

Early life

According to Encyclopædia Sindhiana by Sindhi Language Authority , Ayaz Gul'z full name is Ayaz Ali Dal. He was born to Rajib Ali Dal on 6 March 1959 in Sukkur city of Sukkur District , Sindh, pakistan. He did MA in Sindhi literature from Shah Abdul Latif University.[2]

Contribution

Ayaz Gul has contributed seven books of Sindhi poetry. His books of poetry, 'Deenh Dithey Ja Sapna' appeared in 1984 and 'Dukh Ji Na Pujani Aa' published in 1987, can be considered as his countable contribution.[1] He served as Professor of Sindhi Language and Sindhi literature including Chairman of Sindhi Department in Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur Mirs.[3] He remained director in charge of Sachal Sarmast chair in Shah Abdul Latif University as well.[4] Ayaz Gul is popular as poet of modern Ghazal.[5] He is rewarded with many awards as the best poet together with the Writers Guild Award, Pakistan Academy of Letters’ and award by Sindhi Language Authority Hyderabad, Sindh.[3][6] For paying him honor as poet, a street in Sukkur city is named after Ayaz Gul's name.[7]
