Avery Williams

Avery A. Williams (born September 2, 1994) is a gridiron football linebacker who currently plays for the Canadian Football League's Ottawa Redblacks. He played college football at Temple, and high school football at Archbishop Curley High School in Baltimore, Maryland.

Early years

Williams played running back, wide receiver, linebacker, and defensive back for at Archbishop Curley High School.


College career

A role player in 2015, Williams took over the same linebacker spot in 2016 for Temple and locked up All-AAC honors appearing in 14 games, having 66 total tackles, with nine tackles for losses, two sacks, two forced fumbles and two recoveries.

Professional career

Williams was signed by the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2017.[1] He was waived on September 2, 2017.[2]

On January 8, 2018, Williams signed with the Canadian Football League's Ottawa Redblacks.[3]

In 2019, he was the Ottawa Redblacks Most Outstanding Player and Most Outstanding Defensive Player.[4]
