Aval Sumangalithan

Aval Sumangalithan is a 1985 Tamil-language drama film directed by Visu. The film features Karthik and Ilavarasi in lead roles. The film, produced by Rajam Balachander and Pushpa Kandaswamy, had musical score by M. S. Viswanathan and was released on 19 July 1985.[1] The film was remade in Telugu as Punyasthree.

Plot

Arumugam (Visu), a poor father, looks for a groom for his daughter Uma (Ilavarasi). For Arumugam, the perfect bridegroom seems to be Bhaskaran (Karthik). Bhaskaran then marries Uma. Bhaskaran understands about his in-laws' financial problems, thus he helps them. Later, Bhaskaran suffers from a brain tumour and he will die soon. By when Uma comes to know about this, she commits suicide and Bhaskaran gets cured of a brain tumour.

The film score and the soundtrack were composed by film composer M. S. Viswanathan. The soundtrack, released in 1985, features five tracks with lyrics written by Pulaimaipithan, Muthulingam, N. Kamarasan, Idhayachandran and Jothi Pandian.[2][3]
